Why Use Webflow?
Webflow is on a mission to democratize access to the tools and knowledge required for building digital properties and products that are are also compliant with best coding practices.
Webflow is a slightly different “kettle of fish” compared to the usual 2 comparative candidates; Wix and Squarespace. And I have to say, if you know what you’re doing, you can achieve some pretty clever things with Webflow that I don’t think you can do with Wix or Squarespace; like creating pleasing parallax effects and other engaging interactions.
What also grabbed my interest in Webflow, is the stance it assumes in the web industry. The company actually wants to empower YOU with the capability of building professional looking, well-coded websites, apps and bypassing the common roadblocks creative graphic designers typically face when independently designing websites.
Inside Webflow there are many help videos and documentation available for almost every step of the way. But, is Webflow right for you?
Is Webflow Right For You?
Okay so you have a lot to choose from with regards to building landing and general website pages and apps. So, what makes Webflow a worthy contender or additional tool to have in your software (Applications) folder?
Yes, this ol’ cogder again…
How to Build Intricate Websites Without Code.
When you think about it, this is like reversing the process; Rather than write code to which a page responds. You position and configure items as you wish on a page, while in the background, the code responds to your designed layout…
Bring your design to life with animated prompts and effects. There a many tutorials available for Webflow, so you should not have much problem getting unstuck.
Who Is Webflow For?
Precision design without applying code yourself. Ideal for graphic designers, web designers and developers, beginners with an eye for detail.
“ I would say that Webflow is best suited for the attentive user also concerned with accuracy, detail, design aesthetics and exploration…”
Many DIY website builders such as Wix and Squarespace offer a fair amount of ease-of-use and customisation. However, not quite as much power and flexibility as Webflow, which in our opinion has a much more professional feel about it.
If you are familiar with conventional web design, but looking for something simple that requires no coding. Plus, something that offers a little more than most of the other similar online website building platforms. Webflow sounds like that something you should try out for yourself.
In my opinion, Webflow can feel a little stubborn as you get used to using it at first, which leads me to believe that it’s the ‘ fastidious user’ who will find Webflow a treat. And especially with its “precision driven interface,” while at the same time allowing just enough of the type freedom your typical drag and drop visual web editor provides.
Well, seeing that in terms of ease-of-use, Webflow is comparable to the likes of Wix and Squarespace. Yet powerful enough to satisfy the needs for pro web design and development needs. I would say that Webflow is best suited for the attentive user also concerned with accuracy, detail, design aesthetics and exploration.

Webflow’s commitment to web accessibility
Where it comes to web accessibility, keyboard operability and screen reader support are only 2 aspects of the digital realm that are often neglected when designing for everyone. If conforming to WCAG 2.1 Level AA means something to you. Then you are probably already on your way to introducing better and wider creative communication to your projects.
