Why Use Webflow?
Webflow is on a mission to democratize access to the tools and knowledge required for building digital properties and products that adhere to best coding practices.
Unlike platforms such as Wix and Squarespace, Webflow offers unique capabilities. If you have the expertise, you can achieve advanced features with Webflow, such as creating engaging parallax effects and other interactive elements that may not be possible with Wix or Squarespace.
What also captured my interest in Webflow is its position within the web industry. The company aims to empower you to build professional-looking, well-coded websites and apps, overcoming common roadblocks that creative graphic designers often face when designing websites independently.
Within Webflow, there are numerous help videos and documentation available for almost every step of the process. But is Webflow right for you?
Is Webflow Right For You?
In the vast landscape of tools available for building landing pages, websites, and even applications, Webflow distinguishes itself as a compelling option. One standout feature is its intuitive, no-code editing capability.
Intuitive Editing: Build Intricate Websites Without Code
Webflow empowers users to design complex, responsive websites without writing a single line of code. Its visual interface allows you to position and configure elements directly on the page, while the platform automatically generates clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in the background. This approach enables designers and non-developers to bring their creative visions to life without the traditional coding barriers.
By reversing the conventional web development process, Webflow lets you focus on design and functionality, with the assurance that the underlying code adheres to best practices. This seamless integration of design and development streamlines the workflow, making it accessible to both beginners and seasoned professionals.
In summary, if you’re seeking a platform that combines design flexibility with robust, code-free development, Webflow is a worthy addition to your toolkit.
Parallax and Other Attention-Grabbing Effects
Webflow enables you to enhance your designs with dynamic animations and effects, such as parallax scrolling, which creates an illusion of depth by moving background and foreground elements at different speeds.
This technique reminds me of an Apple website page promoting a new product. It will certainly help make your website more engaging and visually appealing. Webflow’s Interactions 2.0 simplifies the integration of such animations without requiring any coding knowledge.
Who Is Webflow For?
Precision Design Without Writing Code
Perfect for graphic designers, web designers, developers, and even beginners with a keen eye for detail.
“I would say that Webflow is best suited for users who value accuracy, design aesthetics, and creative exploration.”
While DIY website builders like Wix and Squarespace provide ease of use and decent customization, they don’t quite match Webflow’s power and flexibility. Webflow offers a more professional, polished experience—bridging the gap between simple drag-and-drop platforms and full-fledged coding environments.
If you’re familiar with traditional web design but want a no-code solution that still offers creative freedom beyond what most website builders provide, Webflow is worth trying.
That said, Webflow does come with a learning curve. At first, it might feel a little rigid, but that’s precisely why detail-oriented users will find it rewarding. With its precision-driven interface, Webflow strikes the perfect balance between structured control and the creative flexibility of a visual web editor.

Global Accessibility Awareness #GAAD
Where it comes to web accessibility, keyboard operability and screen reader support are only 2 aspects of the digital realm that are often neglected when designing for everyone. If conforming to WCAG 2.1 Level AA means something to you. Then you are probably already on your way to introducing better and wider creative communication to your projects.
