What is Mastodon?
A Brief Overview
As an open-sourced software and unlike the conventional social media networks we have all been introduced to, with Masterdom there is no single server, company, or person that owns it.
Instead, it works in a decentralised fashion that allows users to create what are known as “Instances.” Instances are simply versions of Mastodon that users create from their own server.
The Interface
If you’ve ever used apps, such as TweetDeck, for managing multiple social media channels and accounts, then, the Mastodon interface works in a similar manner.
