Yes, Luminar Neo does support non-destructive editing and offers layer-based adjustments. Non-destructive editing means that any changes you make to an image within Luminar Neo are not applied directly to the original image file. Instead, the software keeps track of the edits you make in a separate file or metadata, allowing you to revert to the original image or modify the edits later on.
Layer-based adjustments in Luminar Neo allow you to work with multiple layers of edits. Layers give you the flexibility to apply different adjustments, filters, and effects to specific areas of your image without affecting the rest of the image. This enables precise and targeted editing, making it easier to create complex compositions, retouch specific elements, or blend multiple images together seamlessly.
With non-destructive editing and layer-based adjustments, Luminar Neo provides a powerful and flexible editing workflow that allows you to experiment, refine, and fine-tune your edits without permanently altering your original image file.

A few words on Luminar 4
Whilst Luminar 4 can help make it incredibly quick at achieving the style of photo you require for a project. It goes without saying, that the quality of your photo is, as always, an important factor.
Luminar 4 will not make you a better photographer, but you knew that already. What you should bear in mind though, is that the technology behind Luminar 4 predicates on the learnt data it uses for intelligently processing any given image.
However, you will also find, for example, that Sky Replacement or any of the other Luminar tools, may not work on an image which perhaps lacks the necessary data needed to distinguish the differences between objects in a given photo .
