A: If you use iCloud, it could be that the file you are editing has not fully synchronised with your Mac and therefore not currently available.
To speed things up, locate and launch the actual file you wish to edit. Then try editing again using Luminar AI.
Alternatively, try editing a different photo, one that you are able to launch from your desktop and does not have a cloud symbol besides it.
Checking iCloud file name
First, try creating a new catalog and importing an image to see if this clears the issue. It could be that your current catalog is using up too much of your computers processing power.
If this doesn’t work, check for updates, then try restarting your computer.
This will vary from one country to another, and probably pretty rare. However, your ISP may be blocking your connection. Common reasons for this will have something to do with your firewall blocking your connection. Check your Firewall and Router.
If you use Windows go here to reset your host file settings
If you are having problems reading RAW files and don’t have access to Photoshop, try darktable or RawTherapee.
Please can you help. I have been having a lot of problems with Luminar 4 this afternoon. I can’t get it past the start up screen as it keeps freezing and I have to restart my computer to unlock it. I love this software but a little disappointing in it keep crashing even if i manage to get it passed the opening screen. I was thinking of re installing it to see if this would fix the issue but worried that I wouldn’t be able to use it again. Any help much appreciated.
Check that your computers configuration is adequate for running Luminar. You may need more RAM as well as enough disk space (see below).
Mac
Mac Model: Early 2010 or newer, MacOS 10.12 or higher.
RAM: 8GB (preferably more)
Disk Space: 10GB free space
WIndows
Graphic Open GL: 3.3 or later, compatible.
Processor: Intel Core i5 or better
OS: Windows 7 or higher (only x64-bit OS)
RAM: 8GB (preferably more)
Disk Space: 10GB free space
Ensure that you have the latest version of Luminar (currently 4.2)
There are a number of different reason why your Mac may be crashing. However, here is a common solution, especially where this is an ongoing issue.
Whilst Luminar 4 can help make it incredibly quick at achieving the style of photo you require for a project. It goes without saying, that the quality of your photo is, as always, an important factor.
Luminar 4 will not make you a better photographer, but you knew that already. What you should bear in mind though, is that the technology behind Luminar 4 predicates on the learnt data it uses for intelligently processing any given image.
However, you will also find, for example, that Sky Replacement or any of the other Luminar tools, may not work on an image which perhaps lacks the necessary data needed to distinguish the differences between objects in a given photo .
